New villas are not new to Naples, but this one has a reputation for being especially dark.
Residents there say the building’s dark walls are causing the problems.

The building is located next to a swimming pool, which residents say is a common complaint.
The villa has a pool, a gymnasium, and two small rooms, the residents said.
“They [the villas owners] are not paying attention to their buildings, and they’re also not doing a good job in protecting them,” resident Giuseppina Tannello said.
[Time title More villas opened in Italy this year ]The villas, which were built between the 1950s and 1960s, are considered a luxury, not a shelter for the homeless.
In 2013, a man was killed and a child seriously injured after a fire broke out in the pool and the villas’ walls collapsed.
The fire also left a hole in the roof, and the owners of the villa were not aware of the fire and did not do any structural repairs, according to local media reports.
